07. Carrie Fisher and Warwick Davis
Warwick Davis is one of the young actors that play a key part in Star Wars. Davis was cast as Wicket E. Warrick, the Ewok Leia met on the forest moon of Endor when he was just 11 years old. Kenny Baker, who provided the voice of R2-D2 in the film, reportedly had to withdraw from the role of the principal Ewok because of stomach poisoning. George Lucas was drawn to Davis’ personality and decided to represent him as a wicket.
08. Making of Jabba the Hutt
Jabba the Hutt was mentioned in Star Wars: A New Hope and fans have wondered if they will ever meet him. Return of the Jedi’s lethal enemy was something that George Lucas and Richard Marquand were adamant about delivering to the big screen. Jabba the Hutt was brought to life by Lucas’ skilled team of puppeteers, and due to the alien’s size, three people had to control the puppet at all times. One was in charge of the head, while the other two were in charge of the limbs.
09. The iconic scene
The critical twist in The Empire Strikes Back is arguably the most important scene in the entire Star Wars trilogy. By placing the plot on such a large cliffhanger as Return of the Jedi approached, it radically changed how viewers regarded the original Star Wars film. George Lucas announced that Darth Vader is Luke’s father, but the cast and crew were kept in the dark. Before the famous scene was filmed, he only shared this information with Mark Hamill.
