Without a doubt, the Ewoks are a divisive part of Star Wars mythology. This is partly due to the striking resemblance they have to teddy bears. The fluffy animals are the tribe of primitive creatures that Return of the Jedi director George Lucas recruited to help him defeat the Empire. A race of Wookiees was initially intended to help Luke, Han, and Leia, but that turned out to be too expensive.

One of the first odd characters we meet in Star Wars: A New Hope is the jaws. They are cute but enigmatic. R2-D2 and C-3PO must be taken captive by the Jawas in order to be sold to Luke Skywalker. They sound like the Minions from the Despicable Me movie. The Jawas Transporter was a small model, with only the bottom half-built, like many other buildings in the first three movies. The main Jawa was performed by Kenny Baker’s hilarious sidekick Jack Purvis.
